Tunisia: Launching of Nessma TV and first Maghreb Star Academy late 2006

A Maghreb private satellite channel called NESSMA TV will be launched late 2006. The public could watch on this channel the Maghreb Star Academy 1, a reality show aimed at promoting Maghreb musical culture and highlight our heritage.
This media and cultural event was the subject of a news conference held on Thursday evening in Tunis by Nabil and Ghazi Karoui, holders of the Group "Karoui and Karoui World" operating in the media, communication and advertising sector in Tunisia and the Maghreb. Several representatives of the national and international press took part in the meeting.
Mr. Nabil Karoui presented an outline of the "Nessma TV," first clear-signal reception satellite channel meant for the Maghreb which will be received on Nilesat and Arabsat satellites.
"This channel will broadcast its programmes from Paris but all the production and post-production operations will be made at in the studios of the channel in Tunis, " underlined Mr. Nabil Karoui.
The launching of "NESSMA TV" late 2006 will be made with Star-Academy Maghreb 1 produced by the Karoui and Karoui Group, in association with Endemol, international leader of audio-visual reality show production.
